On the right side a diagonal log embedded in the bank as well as a plank to its left leads the viewer into the photo; from the plank to a dock upon which a logger stands with his pole embedded in the stream; in the middle ground two other loggers are standing on logs and polling; in the background a group of houses stand on the edge of the pond; behind these are stands of fir trees and in the far distance looms Mt. Shasta.
