Description
Photograph of incinerators at the lumber docks, ca.1930. This image shows a slanted up-close view of a smokestack and silo-type edifice. The lightly colored smokestack on the left has a ladder leading up the front side while the uppermost portion is covered in dark soot. What seems to be a darkly colored incinerator stands to the right of center with smoke seeping out of the dome shaped top. Two funnel-like objects in the front and to the right side of the incinerator while a flat brick structure can be seen in front and below the edifice. Photoprint reads: "Waste materials at the huge lumber docks at Los Angeles -- Long Beach Harbor find their way into monster incinerating plants before they are allowed to accumulate".
