Description
Shown in April 1980, at Third and K Street, is Sacramento's Indo Arch, designed by Sacramento State University Art Professor Gerald Walburg. The artist received a 70,000 dollar commission for the work's design and installation in late 1977 from the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. Made of tubular "cor-ten" steel, the 40-foot-high arch drew much of its inspiration from Islamic imagery and architecture.
