Photograph was edited for publication purposes; Title supplied by cataloger. Gisele MacKenzie was born on January 10, 1927 in Winnipeg, Canada. She was an accomplished singer, actress and violinist and appeared on many variety shows in the 1950s and 60s, most notably The Jack Benny Show and Your Hit Parade. She hosted her own show from 1957-1958, performed on stage in several musicals, and later acted in television shows. MacKenzie was married twice and had two children. She died on September 5, 2003. Photograph caption dated February 10, 1962 reads "Mayor's trophy is presented to J. L. Bensinger Jr., scoutmaster of Troop 331, and Larry Pearson, senior patrol leader, for winning field day competition. Gisele MacKenzie, Encino's honorary mayor, presents the trophy to the winners. Second place plaques were given to Troop 378 and Troop 431.
