Photograph article dated March 23, 1960 partially reads, "Valley women are hatless, conservative millinery shoppers and they "can count on one hand" the number of times they ever wear hats. That could be a blow to the millinery industry, if it were not for the fact that these women still are buying hats - posy paved caps, unadorned bretons, big buckets, halos and simple sailors. And, as they said while Easter bonnet shopping in a Valley shop the other day, they wear them to church, the PTA and when they "go into downtown Los Angeles." But, of the more than 20 women who wandered into that millinery department, only one was wearing a hat - last year's model."
