Description
A forked path runs through trees and the landscaped grounds on the Glen Rosa estate of Thomas Nelmes in Pasadena, California. A little girl and little boy stand on either side of the fork.
Title transcribed from top front of photo-mount. Date devised by cataloger based on photograph style and subject history; Nelmes settled in Pasadena around 1881. Printed along bottom front of photo-mount: "E.S. Frost & Son, Pasadena, Cal." Handwritten in ink on the back of photo-mount: "Drive in 'Glenrosa' Pasadena, Cal. / Five years ago a Barley field / Orange grove Ave / residence of Thomas Helmes [sic]." Correct spelling of landowner is "Nelmes." The boy and girl are possibly Nelmes' children, Thomas and Jeanie.
