Description
Oscar G. Mayer, Jr., addressing guests at the dedication of the 60-inch telescope, Palomar Observatory. Mayer is standing behind a podium inside the Oscar G. Mayer memorial building which houses the telescope. Two empty chairs are seen on either side of the podium. The observatory's blacony is behind Mayer. A small portion of the telescope is seen in the upper left-hand corner of the photograph. Mayer is wearing a suit and necktie.
