Native Americans in feathered headdresses pose arm-in-arm with women in harem pants at the 1928 Pacific Southwest Exposition in Long Beach. The Exposition was launched to commemorate the landing of the Spanish padres and the founding of California. The Exposition buildings, designed by architect Hugh R. Davies, were modeled on North Africa's walled cities. Photograph dated: [1928].
