Description: Photograph caption dated June 14, 1981 reads, "This man apparently decided that the sand under the Santa Monica Pier was the best place to enjoy the clear mild weather at the beach. The weekend promises to offer a repeat of the scene he seems to be so serenely taking in, with coastal morning fog giving way to clear skies, beach temperatures in the 80s and highs in the 90s inland."
