Description
While the mammoth bulldozers are removing the trees and shrubs, hundreds of Angelenos watch the excavation of Pershing Square from behind the barricades that now enclose the park. Among them are the many men and women who, for years, had gathered at the park on Sundays because they had plenty of idle hours on hand and no other place to go. Photo dated: February 7, 1951.
