Roy Neuberger discusses his book, “The Passionate Collector.” He begins by discussing his early life in Paris when he first started out as a young artist and how he later became a major art collector. He then reminisces about some of the first art he collected such as a painting by Guy McCoy whom Neuberger says never became famous. Throughout the interview Neuberger shares stories of how and why he acquired various pieces of artwork and met different artists during his career. He also shares the story of how he met the artist Milton Avery. Also in this interview Neuberger discusses his wife Marie Neuberger whom he met while they were working at a brokerage firm. Later in the interview he mentions his thoughts on art museums, such as the Neuberger Museum, the Metropolitan Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
