Description
Photograph of the street view in the pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico, 1886. The houses along the street are cube-shaped three-story adobe structures with exterior ladders leading to each floor. The rafter tails are exposed. Two white men wearing long coats and hats stand near an Acoma Indian man near a ladder on which a child sits. Other Indians are visible on the roofs. Part of a horse is visible standing in the dirt road at left in front of the structures.
