Description: Portrait of Judge Paul C. Thorne (1878 - 1956). Moved to Mill Valley circa 1923 at 305 Ethel Avenue. In 1924 he opened a law office at 10 Corte Madera Avenue. Married Julia Quayle in 1932.During the Depression Thorne was a foreclosure attorney for the Home Owners' Loan Corporation in the Redwood Empire area and was credited with saving and returning to the owners about one-half of the homes foreclosed upon.
