Description
Picture postcard of Valborg "Mama" Gravander at her Mill Valley home on Tamalpais Avenue. Mama and her husband, Axel Gravander, came to San Francisco from their native Sweden in the early 1920's and moved to Mill Valley in 1945. Mrs. Gravander was well known in San Francisco and Marin for her weaving and her strong interest in sharing Swedish traditions. No publisher listed, however, the caption handwriting is in the distinctive style of Alexander "Zan" Stark, Mill Valley postcard photographer and publisher. Small note in lower right corner reads "Lagsdin Photo M.V Calif." Description provided by Phil Rhodes.
