Description
Pictured here is the 4-H Summer Camp at Las Posadas Forest in July 1929, with 170 Marin, Napa, and Solano County 4-H campers. "This property was gifted to the State of California by Anita S. Blake in 1929, who wanted it to be used for study and research work in forestry, botany, and related topics so that the forest's abundant plant and animal life would be preserved. The State continues to provide a lease to the University of California to operate a 4-H summer camp for local kids in Napa and five neighboring counties, so that the wonders of this amazing property may be explored." Editor, M.B. Boissevain: Marin's First Farm Advisor; Historical Photographs of Marin's Agrarian Roots: 1920-1950
