Photograph caption dated May 20, 1958 reads "Dr. Ralph Prator, second from left, president of Valley State College, accepts copy of Assembly resolution honoring him from Assemblywoman Dorothy M. Donahoe, 38th Dist. Others, from left, are H. E. Woodworth, president, Kern County school district board of trustees; Dr. Edward Simonsen, Prator's successor as president of Bakersfield Junior College, and T. L. McCuen, Kern county high school and junior college district superintendent. Presentation was at trustees' meeting."
