Photograph caption dated March 20, 1965 reads, "USC's first baseman Buddy Gordon, formerly of Pierce College, makes long stretch to record putout on Valley St.'s Chris Guitierre. But the Trojan varsity could not handle the Matadors, reversing an earlier setback by downing SC yesterday, 6-2, on Bovard Field. Paul Edmonson was the winning pitcher for Valley St."
