Description
A Japanese draft letter from Seijiro Ogawa to the War Department in English and Japanese. He was one of the repatriates who failed to board the Gripsholm exchange vessel because of lack of space in September 1943. He was sent back from New York to the Rohwer camp and transferred to the Tule Lake Segregation Center. After the war ended, he was notified by WRA that he was eligible to "relocate." However, he had lost all his properties and still wished to be repatriated to Japan. He claimed that he was eligible for repatriation and wished the Department of Justice to proceed with repatriation. The complete letter in English and Japanese found in item: csudh_sai_0097.
