Photograph caption dated September 16, 1981 reads, "A fireman and a paramedic help Sandra Gordon, whose left foot was injured in an accident on the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway. Gordon had been driving a pickup truck yesterday morning when the truck started swerving and hit another truck on the center median about 180 feet west of the Hoover Street exit, officials said. Two fire units and an ambulance responded. Gordon, 25, of Los Angeles was taken to White Memorial Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition after surgery."
