Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated May 4, 1963 partially reads "Leo Tomlinson, a Valley house painter, with a day off, spotted the 'gator, figured it shoudn't (sic) be where kids play, and took it home. Puzzled as to the next step, Tomlinson brought the cayman (that's Webster for alligator) to see me. Naturally. We nicknamed it 'See.' (That's short for Seeyalater Alligator)."
