Lawn bowlers from all parts of the country are preparing for the Southern California midwinter open tournament, to be held on the Arroyo Seco Park greens. The event is sponsored by the Southern California Lawn Bowling Association, assisted by the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. Noted bowlers from all parts of the United States as well as Canada will compete. Photo shows members of the Southern California Lawn Bowling Association, playing at "target bowls" during practice for the tournament. It was introduced by Frederick James Hill. Photo dated January 5, 1935.
