Photograph of an aerial view of the swollen Los Angeles River showing Souther Pacific Railroad's Bullring Yard, North Broadway and North Spring Street, Los Angeles, 1938. The river runs from the top of the image to the bottom and is crossed by two concrete bridges. Trains can be seen in the railroad yard at left, while dozens of large industrial buildings line the banks of the river. Many automobiles can be seen traveling on the roads in the area.
