Description
Andrew begins the interview discussing that he wanted to find a person through whose life he could tell a bigger story; Samuel Goldwyn, as the quintessential Hollywood movie mogul, offered Andrew such a story and opportunity. For the majority of the interview, Andrew and Connie talk about a number of the films Goldwyn produced that helped make Hollywood “Hollywood.” In particular, Andrew and Connie talk about his intense sense of individuality and independence that made him such a pivotal figure in shaping Hollywood’s history from making the first feature length film to resisting the Hollywood blacklist movement during McCarthyism. In addition, they talk about the actors, actresses, writers, and directors that Goldwyn hired, fired or made famous.
