"Aerojet General's Orbital Maneuvering Subsystem (OMS) engines are each capable of generating 6,000 pounds of thrust, equal to the strength of eight diesel locomotives. The OMS has a record workload on the 11th flight of the Space Shuttle, boosting CHALLENGER to its deepest orbit ever."
