Students stand and recline on the lawn in front of Horace Mann School which was located at the corner of Sixth and Santa Clara Streets. The school was built in 1907 to replace a structure destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. The building was demolished in 1971. A new Horace Mann School opened on the same site in 2003.
