Description
Home economics expert of the Sacramento Bee, Katherine Kitchen, created the booklet "Peach Pointers" in 1936. It contains a number of recipes using peaches since California was the chief peach growing state at the time and peaches were freshly available in large quantities. In addition to the booklet, the Sacramento Bee Radio Station created a special broadcast dedicated to the peach industry of California on KFBK on June 21, 1936. These programs were intended to aid in solving the surplus in peaches in California by creating more demand for the fruit.
