Ersin Z. Sivrican was born in Turkey in 1977 and emigrated from Istanbul to Los Angeles in 1995 with his family. His uncle had already lived here for 10 years with his wife and children. Ersin attended Santa Monica College and graduated from UCLA in 2001. He and his wife Giselle lived in Corona, CA.
Ersin Sivrican (donor at mid-photo, facing camera and wearing glasses) is pictured sitting center next to his girlfriend Yelda Tezel on his graduation day from Özel Ata Lisesi High School, with his graduating class. Some students hold their diplomas in their hands, while other students wait to be called to accept theirs. The ceremony appears to be taking place in the school yard with a school banner as the backdrop hanging from a fence, and a bust of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey and its first president, mounted in front of it. The table at left is set up next to a podium with flowers and a basket of diplomas. Apartment buildings are visible behind the school.
