Photograph identification, This taken in 1854 0f Ebinezer Morrison Sparks ,Mary Levisa (Good?) Edmonds (born 1835 - married 1851), their children - Mary Sparks (who became Mrs. D.K. Perkins, California Governor's wife and first white child born in Butte County, Calif.), and Sally Sparks. Mansfield - On February 21, 1851 the first marriage ceremony was performed in Butte County. On that day J.T. Elliott, Justice of Peace, married Ebinezer M. Sparks and Miss Mary L. Edmonds - both of Ophir (Oroville). No license was required, although all marriages had to be recorded.
