Description
Photograph of a view of San Luis Obispo, showing the back yard of three homes, ca.1900. At center, three one-story residential buildings are pictured from behind, a set of shacks visible to the left. Surrounding the homes, posts for what appear to be a barbed-wire fence can be seen. Farther back, the city opens up into more residences, extending to two mountain peaks in the distance. Notes from an earlier record read: "The commercial center of the richest and most varied section in California, and yet a beautiful town with old fig and olive trees, orange and walnut trees and vines with flowers everywhere adorning it tastefully".
