Description
An international atmosphere prevails at Clover Field (Santa Monica Municipal Airport) and on the ramp adjacent to the Douglas Aircraft Company's plant where airliners consigned to both dometic and foreign airlines await delivery as shown in this photograph. Four-engine Douglas CD-4 airlines destined for Sweden, France and Mexico may be seen in the left and center background, while to the right are two DC-3s, one for NAB, Brazilian airline, and the other an executive-type DC-3C for a private owner. The other DC-4s in the photograph are for domestic airlines--Delta, National, United and Western. Photo dated: May 31, 1946.
