Description
"Camp of 'Cholos', Los Angeles, circa 1900. The image shows a camp of mostly white tents on a sloping field near some low hills with a road running next to it, and some trees, evidently eucalyptus, in the background. There seem to be some brush lean-tos and clotheslines at or near the tents and the trees in the background. A sign, which is unreadable, is at the far right. It is assumed the camp is for migrant Mexican workers. On the reverse is an ink inscription "nene-moosha -- / Camp of 'cholos," / Los Angeles." A name, Hazel A. Seeley, and a number, 172, are also present. With soiling, a few stains, very slight curvature, and edge rubbing to the mount, the overall condition is good.
