Description
Postcard depicting the exterior of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a Roman Catholic church, in Mill Valley, California. The first Mount Carmel church was dedicated in 1893. A handwritten note on the back of this postcard dates this photo January 14, 1917 and indicates that the postcard probably shows the dedication of a new church building, created to accommodate Mill Valley's growing population. This new church was built at the corner of Buena Vista Avenue, and was a stucco, Spanish Mission-style building.
