Description
Photograph of workers unloading Hawaiian pineapples from the freighter Manolo at Los Angeles Harbor, March 5, 1931. At center, a ship's crane is lowering a pallet of pineapple boxes down onto a small cart. Three stevedores are standing near the cart, while another man stands on the deck of the ship at right and watches. The hull of the ship is light-colored, and a variety of masts, ventilation tube, cranes, and ladders can be seen on the deck. The interior of a warehouse doorway is visible in the foreground, and a man leans against the doorway at right. Compares to CHS-35845, which shows the same scene at a slightly different time.
