Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Old Plaza Church from the Plaza, ca.1920-1929. A road can be seen from left to right across center, with a church visible on the far side of the road at left. Three bells hang near the left side of the roof, while two crosses can be seen on top of the church. An arched entrance can be seen, as well as two circular windows. A sign at left reads, "Plaza Shrine Stand", while five men wearing hats can be seen standing on the near side of the road at left. Three more men can be seen standing underneath a tree in the right foreground. Buildings to the right of the church read, "Nuestra Senora [...] De Los Angeles", "La Azteca Joyeria Y Relojeria".
"C 2 125 OLD PLAZA CHURCH, LOS ANGELES. The famous Dons of early Southern California history came to worship here. Today, their decendants drop in during all hours of the day and night to pray and reflect. This unique edifice is within the shadow of the City Hall and is located in the colorful Plaza, hub of the Mexican colony" -- typed note attached to verso.
