Description
This photograph was taken from the east side of the intersection of Tenth and K Streets, looking west, in circa 1975. In the left foreground at 930 K Street is the United California Bank. The structure was built in 1962 by the Contracting Engineers Company, with 23 teller windows and a out superstructure of granite facings highlighted by extruded aluminum frames and glass. Also in view are Leed's Shoe Store at 920 K Street, and Rochester Clothing at 916 K Street. The rear of the Forum Building - built in 1911 - looms in the background at 1107 Ninth Street. Weinstock's department store at 825 K Store appears in the extreme right side of the frame. Just above that is sign of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows building at Ninth at K Streets. The links in the IOOF sign symbolize Friendship, Love and Truth.
