Title supplied by cataloger. The Baptist Church of Christ originated in Tennessee around 1808, and spread to several other Southern States. Its doctrine is a mild form of Calvanism, with belief in a general atonement and admission of feet-washing as religious ordinance. View of Metropolitan Baptist Church of Christ, located on the corner of 4200 Hooper Avenue and E. 42nd Street. It shows a rather large, modern-looking building that is painted cream-color with a dark gray roof. Several stairs lead to the main entrance, which is gated, and a side entrance is nestled farther back to the right of the building. A small stained glass window is visible directly over the main entrance, and three others are seen on the side of the building. Photo dated: December 2005.
