Description
Photograph of oil wells, showing derricks in an oil field, ca.1930. A dull body of water lies in the foreground with fallen sticks and leaves floating through its reflection of the tall derricks which blanket the field on the far bank. Two metal, cylindrical containers stand at the water's edge on the right and appear to secrete smoke from a short pipe at their tops. A row of similar cylinders behind the first pair, closer to the derricks. The far bank appears to be a small mound of discarded earth while tall grass lies in the bank in the foreground.
