Built in 1922, the Sovereign was an "own-your-own", eleven-story apartment building and contained ninety-five units. It was a luxurious complex with many amenities catering to the needs of residents. It has been declared Long Beach Historic Landmark 16.52.420.
Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Crow of Weatherford, Texas, read a newspaper together outside their apartment at the Sovereign Apartments, 354-60 West Ocean Boulevard, in Long Beach.
