Buddy Rogers was an actor and a jazz musician. Photograph caption dated January 28, 1943 reads "Mary Pickford, 'America's sweetheart' of the silent days, attended the premiere with her husband, Charles 'Buddy' Rogers, who gave up his career as a band leader to go into the service. He is shown here in his uniform, that of a lieutenant in the United States Navy." The premiere of Noel Coward's "In Which We Serve" was held at the Carthay Circle Theatre.
