As the general health situation in countries of the East is quite bad, the young Westerners oft Nr. 07 - Østens lande er ikke de sundeste at opholde sig i. Derfor bliver de unge ofte syge, og så er der pludseligt meget langt hjem. Og sygehusvæsenet kan ikke måle sig med vores hjemlige standard. Nogle unge får problemer med visumregler, eller der går kludder i pengeoverførsler hjemmefra. Og uden penge og visa er man ilde stedt. Men for mange rejsende er det største problem dog ensomheden. Det er psykisk hårdt at være på egen hånd i månedsvis uden nogen at tale til og dele sine problemer med. (Foto 1986)

As the general health situation in countries of the East is quite bad, the young Westerners often suffer from illness. If so, the home is suddenly very far away. And quality of the hospital system is not similar to standards at home. Other young people may have problems regarding the visa rules or money transfers from home. And without money and visa one is badly off. However, for many travelers loneliness is the major problem. It is mentally hard to be on your own for months, without someone to talk to and share your problems with. (Photo 1986).
