Description
Photograph caption dated October 7, 1963 reads, "Making of the champs - Jim Gilliam tallies the winning run of the series after reaching third on Joe Pepitone's three-base fielding error. Willie Davis brought Gilliam home from third with deep fly to center. Umpire Art Paparella, left, and Tom Davis make sure Gilliam touches home plate. Yankee catcher Elston Howard waits in vain for the toss from outfield. At right, this is how it was after the final putout. Jubilant Dodgers head for champagne party after taking fourth straight from the 'unbeatable' New Yorkers. Almost 56,000 people were at Dodger Stadium for the finish Sunday."
