Title supplied by cataloger. The Barker Brothers Building at 215 Promenade Plaza was the headquarters building in Long Beach for department store chain. It was constructed in 1929 and is an Art Deco building. Windows are grouped in vertical strips, divided by piers and pilasters. Directly across from Barker Bros. is the Insurance Exchange Building, another Art Deco building. Barker Bros. is Long Beach Historic Landmark no. 16.52.450. Bank buildings include First National Bank of Long Beach and City National Bank. Oil rigs on the bluffs behind the city look like a forest of pines.
