Description
Republican/Nationalist mural, Falls Road, 2002. Mural as part of campaign for recognition of an Gaeilge/Irish language in the Northern Ireland Human Rights legislation promised as part of the Belfast Agreement 1998. Detail: 'Pobal' is the umbrella organisation for the Irish language community in Belfast. 'Ní mór an bille ceart tosca sainiúla na Gaeilge a chur san áireamh[.] The bill of human rights must reflect the unique circumstances of the Irish language.'. Bilingual advertisement for the shop (upon whose side wall the mural is painted).
