Title devised by cataloger. On front of card: "Brown, Independence Kansas." On verso is the following caption: "John took this in May 1892. They were printed in Kansas. The big new house is not nearly finished yet. John and Harvey (native) sawed all the lumber for the second story. The house is 20 x 30. [The second story] is six feet high at the sides 7 8 in the middle. This will be our home when I return. Our old home is now for the school." Printed on verso: "From Brown Stone Front Studio, Independence, Kas."
