Image of C.R. Klein of Santa Monica with a German Zeppelin bomb propped on a stool and labeled "London Special."
Title and date devised by cataloger based on September 27, 1933, press release that accompanied the negative: "Zeppelin Bomba. C.R. Klein, of Santa Monica, Calif., breaks out a German Zeppelin bomb, which is the only one in this country, having been sent to him from London, England, in 1919 by a relative, costing $75 to ship from England. The bomb was recovered from a shot down German Zep. that fell into the Thames River, 17 years ago, this Oct. 1st. It weighs 200 pounds with the charge and is a time bomb, set to explode when it hits the ground or a building from 5,000 to 6,000 feet." This man is seen in photCL_555_06_1483.
