Text below photograph reads: The sliding forms were elevated by twenty-ton jack screws carried by this myriad of jack rods and jack ladders. The sliding form was elevated about 1/4 inch at a time by a crew of ten men working in unison across the whole width of the form, which is 87 feet long and 54 inches wide. (Note the hoist on the left taking up a load of steel - 371 tons of which were used in the concrete reenforcing.)
