Description
View 1: Crowds gather in front of Hotel Breakers in Hermosa Beach to watch a contest that is taking place, possibly with lifeguards as competitors. In this view the crowd is seen five to seven rows deep, in a large semi-circle with some people at the ends standing in the ocean. A lone competitor is walking out of the surf and toward the right of the crowd, where the judges have a roped-off area. Several men and women wearing swimsuits are standing in that section; they are presumably competitors.
