Description
Shown is a hotel flyer for the Capitol Plaza Holiday Inn, located on 300 J Street in downtown Sacramento, circa 1979. The flyer boasts its centralized location within the heart of downtown, highlighting its close proximity to historic attractions such as Old Sacramento, the state Capitol building, the Governor's Mansion, and the Crocker Art Gallery. Commercial attractions are also highlighted given its location adjacent to the Downtown Plaza shopping center and its several department stores. The hotel was opened in 1979 by John Hammons, who had also owned 61 other Holiday Inns by the time this one had been erected.
