In this audio recording Peter F. Drucker interviews Frances Hesselbein and Max DePree in his audio book, “The Nonprofit Drucker.” This tape is part of the series entitled, “Mission and Leadership.” Drucker begins by introducing Hesselbein, national executive director of The Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., and DePree, the chairman and chief executive officer of Herman Miller, and a board member of Hope College and Fuller Theological Seminary. DePree says that a good leader shouldn’t focus on meeting goals, but rather should develop potential gifts. He discusses how employees often having shifting jobs and responsibilities, and changing opportunities. Hesselbein describes the responsibility of a staff towards personal development and belonging. She ends the interview by talking about the importance of adaptability in a changing environment.
