Photograph caption dated November 29, 1954 reads, "Debris basin will check floods - As workmen complete control tower, right, heavy earth moving equipment can be seen in background trucking in loads of rock fill to complete dam across Pacoima Canyon near city of San Fernando. Vinnell Construction Co. started work on this project last April and entire job is scheduled for completion Dec. 1. Drying up Valley is costing government millions of dollars and is expected to prevent damaging floods."; See images #00109803 through #00109805 for all photos in this series.
